Apple iPhone 5 Release date rumours

Rumours surrounding the iPhone 5’s release date, potential specs and features, and price have fuelled reports that Apple is gearing up to launch its next-gen smartphone around summer time. The handset, which is rumoured to be named the new iPhone, is reportedly under construction – and the rumour mill has been busy speculating about what we can expect to see from the device, if and when it lands.Respected Japanese Apple blog Macotakara has allegedly received word from "Asian sources" who claim that Apple will launch the device in September or October 2012 which would fit with last year’s arrival of the iPhone 4S."According to Asian reliable source, next iPhone will be released in September or October, and this cycle seems to be kept for years," read a translated portion of the report.Last year's October iPhone 4S launch was the only time Apple has verged from the summer cycle, making users wait 15 months instead of the usual 12 for a new handset. For the complete knowledge on Iphone 5 visit the site http://www.apple.com/in/ios/

Android Jelly Bean 5.0

Though Google has not made any official announcements, it's no secret that the next version of Android will be known as Jelly Bean.
While we'll likely hear more details about the mobile OS upgrade at today's Google I/O keynote, Google tipped Jelly Bean's arrival in a video (below) that shows it being added to Google's Android statue garden.
Typically, whenever a new version of Android is unveiled, a life-size replica of the new OS takes its place on a patch of grass outside the company's Mountain View headquarters. This week, a jelly bean-filled statue joined Androids dressed as an ice cream sandwich, a honeycomb, fro yo, a donut, and so forth.
"A new friend just moved into the neighborhood," the Android Twitter feed tweeted this morning with a link to the one-minute video.
In it, a moving truck rolls up to the Google offices and the driver removes a large crate. Googlers are then seen lining up and passing large jelly beans down a line, one by one, to their new home outside the Googleplex.
The Ice Cream Sandwich statue arrived at Google in Oct. 2011, shortly before Google unveiled Android 4.0 at an event in Hong Kong.
PCMag will be be Google I/O today, so stay tuned for all the Jelly Bean details. Until then, see 5 Things We Want From Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Dell Streak Pro

It’s been a long, long time since we’ve heard anything about a Dell Android-based gadget, but you would be happy to know that the American electronics multinational is still alive, kicking and thinking about you Android geeks.Well, sort of, at least, because the latest Dell manufactured Android-based product is set to hit the market in March, but doesn’t look very impressive, at least on paper. The Streak Pro GS01will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread and will be powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The chipset is more than decent by today’s standards and should ensure a good overall performance level, but on the other hand the guys at Dell haven’t mentioned a thing about any upcoming Android 4.0 update, which is very unpromising.
The rest of the features should make the smartphone a decent medium to high-end gadget, at least for now. There’s 1 GB of RAM, a 4.3-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen with 960 x 540 pixels resolution, 8 GB of on-board memory, an 8 MP rear-facing camera with LED Flash and a 1.3 MP front-facing webcam. In terms of looks, the Streak Pro GS01 should be pretty elegant, but also sturdy and will be made available with a dark, classy all-black body. However, I personally am not overly excited with the smartphone’s measurements, as it is set to weigh in at 145 grams (5.11 ounces) and to measure 10.3 mm (0.4 inches) thick. As far as connectivity goes, the 4.3-incher will feature WiFi, Bluetooth, but also HSDPA support with speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps in Japan through the eMobile network. Finally, in terms of pricing, things are not very ‘’pleasant’’, as the Streak Pro GS01 is set to cost ¥54,800 in Japan, which would convert today in around 680 US dollars. No word yet on a global release, but it’s pretty clear that if this smartphone will ever come to the United States or Europe, it will need an important price cut to draw some kind of interest.

Google’s Project Glass – Welcome to the Future

Imagine this if you will, you’re walking down the street engaged in a video chat with your friend, who is 6000 miles away, taking pictures and planning your day when you realize you don’t know where you are, as you look up and to the right a computer screen appears in your line of vision, and you ask it to find the nearest subway station, and it does. The coolest part of this story is that this technology is out on our streets, right now.
Welcome Google’s foray into augmented reality glasses, housed in a pair of sleek and uber-cool glasses is a clear display that sits above just one of your eyes, these glasses can stream news and information, access maps and send or receive messages via voice command. The glasses can also take video or pictures, Android based, with a 3 or 4 G connection the Google glasses will also have motion sensors and GPS.

Archos Child Pad ready to be launched

So your little one has been hankering after you for a new tablet, considering how you do your very best to prevent him or her from coming anywhere near your iPad each time you come home from work? You know the drill – as much as you want to let your kid enjoy some games on the iPad, you know that he is still trying to get his body’s co-ordination right, so walking or running around with the iPad in hand is not exactly the best idea, since a slip of the fingers or a fall would mean a crying child and the very high possibility of a broken display – not something you can afford right now, what with austerity measures being introduced just about everywhere else.

Apart from purchasing an old, first generation iPad from someone else, you might as well go all the way and deliver a tablet that has a specific target – the little ones. There is just something about Alvin and the Chipmunks being revived, where their past three movies actually combined to rake in more than $1 billion from box office receipts alone. I know, this is no Avengers, but it is still quite the achievement for a trio of high pitched chipmunks that would make for a decent meal for select jungle tribes out there. Enter the Archos Child Pad that has an Alvin and the Chipmunks 3 theme in place.

Logitech G600 MMO Gaming Mouse

When it comes to gaming peripherals, we gamers can be a very picky lot. After all, not everything that is made or rolls off the production line will cater for every single person here on earth – there will always be a select few who love nothing better than to nitpick on select features, or rather, the lack of it. If you are an avid MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) gamer, then you will most probably have given Diablo a good whopping in his (or should we say, her) latest iteration many times over, and have currently settled on a character development path of choice after giving the many classes a go. Surely your current standard issue mouse would also be on its last legs now, with all the furious clicking that has been going on the past few weeks. Isn’t it time to introduce an upgrade to your gaming peripheral arsenal? This is where the latest Logitech G600 MMO Gaming Mouse comes in, and we shall take a look at what makes it tick right after the jump.

The iZON Remote Room Monitor can even be programmed to respond to audio or motion detection, although to put it in this setting might not be the best of ideas in a high traffic, public area. Onion Goggles-No more tears now!!

Here at Coolest Gadgets we have reported on camera goggles, night vision goggles and even beer goggles, so today I thought I would introduce you to Onion Goggles, made specifically to help keep the tears away while preparing dinner.

I often wonder who cut up the first onion, had a horrendous tear jerking reaction and decided to eat the darn things anyway, but I guess I’m glad they did.

Your tears are caused by irratating compounds being released when the cells of the onion are damaged by the blade of your knife. The tears that follow are released when your body attempts to dilute the stinging chemical.

Electric Skates

The Electric Skates are pretty self-describing – they are basically motorized electric roller skates which are able to propel a wearer at a top speed of up to 8 mph. Of course, there are other laws of physics to be considered as well, such as the wearer being no more heavier than 180 lbs. All you need to do is strap the skates on over your shoes, ensure the dual fasteners are securely and sufficiently tightened, and let the 80-watt motor on each skate get to work. The smooth-rolling 6″ rubber tires should provide sufficient grip across most surfaces (ice not included), while there is a handheld wireless remote control that adjusts the speed of this skates. It takes around five hours to juice up each pair of skates, and removable training wheels are thrown into the mix for beginners.

Google Developing Tablet to Take on iPad

Google CEO Eric Schmidt has confirmed that his company is developing a tablet device based on the Android operating system, according to friends that spoke to the executive at a recent event in Los Angeles. The New York Times reports that Google has “been working with several hardware manufacturers,” and “hopes to make its own apps marketplace available for new slate-like devices.”
Although Google is yet to publicly announce such a device, many signs point to its likely launch. For starters, Google has been rumored to be developing a slate device with HTC – the same company it brought Nexus One to market with – since January. Moreover, the company has already announced plans for an e-book store expected to launch within the next few months.
It’s also clear that Google has plans for Android that go way beyond phones. There’s already an Android-powered car on the way, as well as plans for what’s being called “Google TV.” While Chrome OS for notebooks is also expected by year-end (and there are rumored Chrome tablets too), an Android tablet now seems imminent.
A move into tablet devices would also further Google’s growing competition with Apple, who just released the iPad. Many other companies are also expected to join the tablet race this year, and just last week, it was reported that Nokia was developing its own device.

HTC one x

The early reviews are in for HTC’s newest super phone, the One X, and by all accounts it is one of the best Android smartphones to hit the market since Samsung’s vaunted Galaxy Nexus bowed late last year. As the first-quad core smartphone, it’s powered by a 1.5-GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, the One X has a lot to live up to. The phone also serves as a fresh start for HTC, which saw its sales slow down in recent months.
We spent some brief time with the One X during its unveiling at Mobile World Congress and were more than impressed to say the least. In fact, we went as far as to call the One X one of our 10 most anticipated smartphones of 2012. So what are the rest of the reviewers saying about it?

LG Optimus L5 marks global debut

In the early days of most hardware, functionality comes before form. After all, what was important was to make sure a particular device or machine worked as intended – no more, no less. After that, you are more or less free to think of ways to not only make that functional machine smaller and more efficient, but also nicer to look at with your own two eyes. Take the smartphone for instance, Apple’s iPhone was clearly head above shoulders from the other QWERTY-sliding smartphones back in 2007, and this design idea has filtered down to current day smartphones, too.

Fujitsu collar monitor for your pet

The cloud can also be described as an abstract place, where your digital consciousness has a residence there since facets of your life are stored in that virtual area which is backed by physical disks, located somewhere in the world. Fujitsu intends to bring the use of cloud technology to a new level thanks to a spanking new collar-mounted device that was specially designed to monitor your dog’s activity level. Of course, this will not rely on something as monotonous as ensuring your pooch’s Twitter stream is updated from time to time, but offers far more important information including delivering helpful health monitoring, activity level, and the external temperature, and all such information is sent to a cloud-based health service that is tipped to roll out sometime later in the year.

Contact Lens Helps you “See” Blood Sugar Levels

I did a post last week about a semi permanent tattoo that could monitor blood sugar in diabetics. It involved nanoparticles being injected beneath the skin that could constantly indicate blood glucose levels by changing color. There was a tremendous response to that post, and its no surprise, no one wants to be sticking themselves several times a day to test their blood.Well, I thought you guys might be interested in another option that may not be that far off the horizon, how about a contact lens for diabetics that can change color in order to alert you to blood sugar levels utilizing a sugar sensing chemical? That would be pretty awesome right?

Roqbot – Say Farewell to the Jukebox?

Does anyone out there fondly remember the good old days? When you could walk into a bar or diner and for a single quarter pick a few songs you’d like to listen to while hanging out? I remember knowing all the number letter combinations to my favorite songs by heart. Ah the trouble I could get into when someone played D-20…

Well, if high tech has it’s way, which it usually does, Roqbot will change the face of customer guided music content at many venues around the globe. Forget the good old Jukebox… patrons at Roqbot locations can just use their iPhone or Android music app to check in, find out what’s already playing, request songs, vote on the queue, and see the venue’s specials. Ultimately, customers will be choosing the music experience at that location.

Mango-Window 7 Phone by Microsoft

Mango is the name of new Windows Phone 7 from Microsoft and it was released to the manufacturers for OS testing and compatibility. It will probably be available in a few weeks in Japan first (by Fujitsu), then lately by Nokia, Samsung, LG and HTC. Let’s sneak a bit in the phone and see – of course – what’s different? Microsoft is not bringing brand new revolutionary features on the market (at least not all of them…), but it makes them smarter and easier to access. To start with, the home screen – it is actually the Start Screen. So you can stay up to date with everything you want to know (depending on the applications that you are interested). For example: weather, friends’ social status, emails, calls, agenda or texts. Microsoft is launching the hub term in its Windows Phone 7. So it has: - People Hub: referring to friends, there is not just a list of contacts. Windows Phone 7 integrates a person’s Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Windows Live profiles and tells you right up to date everything that is new for each person in your list. - Similar to this is unification of the messaging inbox, which allows the user to easily see all the text he receives, but in a smart way, divided in personal (social network messages, personal email accounts and so on) and business (Outlook) - Pictures Hub.

Sony Xperia S

It started at Barcelona during the Mobile world Congress where Sony unveiled its flagship device for 2012 – the Sony Xperia S and also announced a clutch of Xperia devices that would fill other gaps in Sony’s portfolio. Thankfully, Sony didn't tease Indian customers for too long and the Xperia S has reached these shores in good time.

The Xperia S joins the unibody bandwagon with a form factor that's reminiscent of the Nokia Lumia and the new HTC flagship – the One X. So no micro SD card support (although the 32GB on-board should suffice) no removable battery, but you do have a micro-SIM slot. The clunky form factor can take some time getting used to, as can Sony's decision not to launch this device with Ice Cream Sandwich OS. The device currently runs a Gingerbread OS which you have to put with till Sony delivers the promised upgrade to ICS in a couple of months.

Windows Phone 8 Apollo unvieled

The E3 and Apple’s WWDC out of the way, we turn our gaze towards Microsoft’s Windows Phone Developer Summit on June 20-21. There’s no doubting the ingenuity and class of Windows Phone (WP) as an OS. In fact, while it offers fairly limited customisation options to its users, it’s still got a few tricks up its sleeve; and we’d have to admit that what it does, it does well. However, Windows Phone 7 (WP7) has had some strict restrictions when it comes to hardware, and some feel that it’s those restrictions that have held back manufacturers like Nokia and Samsung from providing more in their WP7 devices.

Expected, at the Windows Phone Developer Summit, is the announcement of the next version of the WP OS, WP8. Codenamed Apollo, a video leaked earlier this year offered what little is known about this major evolutionof the OS, especially in light of the OS’s biggest contribution to Windows 8: the Metro interface. Having seen a remarkable reception to its admittedly beautiful user interface, Microsoft took the best of Metro to their desktop OS. Unsurprisingly, then, it’s expected that both Windows 8 and WP8 will find a lot in common. It’s also expected that Microsoft will finally reveal how their acquisition of Skype will fit into WP8.

HTC Jetstream™ tablet

When HTC entered the tablet game, it did so in reverse course. Where other manufacturers were jostling for elbow room in a 10-inch form factored world, the company opted for smaller, more familiar battleground, eschewing the rough-hewn Honeycomb OS for a Gingerbread-baked Sense overlay on the Flyer. Naturally, the time for that mini-slate to shine has come and gone. In its stead, we're treated to a flagship of sorts -- HTC's first 10-incher and AT&T's inaugural 4G LTE slate. Android 3.1 makes an appearance here, as does Sense 1.1 for tablets, but is the skinned experience really any different from the custom UX we've all come to love or hate on phones? Can the added Scribe pen functionality, repurposed here from its 7-inch brother, transform the Jetstream from third pillar offering to an always-on, on-the-go assistant? And will those newly hatched 700MHz speeds convince you to cough up for that weighty $700 price tag? Follow along past the break to see how it fared.
